Rooibos (Aspalathus linearis)
Rooibos, or red tea, is a plant native to the Cape Town region of South Africa.
The vibrant amber color comes from the natural colourants that develop during the post-harvest fermentation or oxidation process and is brought about by natural enzymes in the plant.
It contains several minerals and a wide array of antioxidants. Rooibos tea contains phenylpyretic acid.
