How does a carbon filter work?

The carbon filter removes unpleasant odors with the help of active carbon, and dirt does not enter the air. The active carbon in the carbon filter can be powder or granule based. It is necessary to adjust the performance of the carbon filter to the characteristics of the fan. The carbon filter elements ensure maximum stability and durability, and the flange ensures a secure connection. Carbon filters do not eliminate 100% of unpleasant odors, but they prevent odors from spreading from the planting area. It captures particles and impurities through adsorption using active carbon, thus the outgoing air will eventually become odorless.

Can the carbon filter be refilled?

Technically, the filter is refillable, but it's not a good idea to refill the filters yourself. The reason for this is that the companies producing carbon filters themselves have the necessary technical background, which simply cannot be provided at home in non-professional conditions.

Is it necessary to replace the pre-filter?

It is advisable to replace the pre-filter if it becomes dirty. A dirty pre-filter increases the pressure drop, which reduces the air flow through the filter. A clean pre-filter extends the life of the filter and makes it more efficient.

How long does the carbon filter last?

The lifetime of the filter is determined by the concentration of the pollutant, the relative humidity and the amount of air to be cleaned. Carbon filters usually have a lifespan of 12-18 months, but this may vary from product to product, which we indicate in each case.

How to install the carbon filter flange?

Remove the flange and sealing tape using the included screws and attach the foam gasket to the underside of the flange, exposing the sticky side of the foam tape and securing it around the perimeter of the bottom of the flange. After installing the sealing tape, place the flange on top of the filter, secure the flange to the top of the filter. Be careful not to overtighten the screws as this may damage the filter cover or bend the flange and create an air gap.
