Origin of kratom

The kratom tree is native to Southeast Asia, particularly in tropical areas. The traditional use of preparations made from its leaves dates back hundreds of years (primarily in Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia), mainly among local communities where it was used as a medicinal herb. The active ingredients in the leaves include alkaloids such as mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine, which are responsible for the effects of kratom.

Kratom Varieties

Kratom leaves can produce different types of effects and can be distinguished by three main color categories.

White Kratom

The most popular white kratom variety is White Dragon Kratom, which is a ground kratom from the interior of Borneo. The leaves of the tree are harvested in late summer, carefully dried and ground. It is also available in capsule form, which also contains 100% natural ingredients. Our other best-known product is White Maeng Da Kratom powder, one of the best-known, highest-quality kratom varieties, which is also harvested in late summer, then carefully dried and ground.

Green Kratom

The most popular green kratom variety is Green Dragon Kratom, which is also available in powder and capsule form, or Green Maeng Da Kratom, which is a premium quality kratom - also in powder and capsule form.

Red Kratom

The most popular red kratom variety is Borneo Red Kratom powder, which is a mid-range kratom, and Red Dragon Kratom, which is also available in powder and capsule form.

Kratom Alkaloids

The most well-known alkaloids are mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine, but there are also several other compounds found in the plant. The complex chemical composition of kratom contributes to the plant’s versatility.

Mitragynine
The primary alkaloid in Kratom is mitragynine. It can account for up to 70% of the alkaloid content of the leaves and has been studied for years.

7-hydroxymitragynine
The other most active alkaloid found in Kratom. 7-hydroxymitragynine is chemically very similar to mitragynine, so it is often studied in the same context. However, the 7-hydroxymitragynine content in Kratom leaves is much more variable than that of mitragynine. It depends greatly on the type of leaves, the drying process, and the time of harvest. This variation is not very significant, typically a fraction of a percent.

Paynantheine
Paynantheine is the second most abundant chemical in Kratom alkaloid.

Speciogynine
It is the third most concentrated alkaloid in most Kratom leaves.

Mitraphylline
It usually makes up less than 1% of Kratom leaves. Mitraphylline is believed to have great potential, and further studies are being conducted on this.

Ajmalicine
One of the first alkaloids found in Kratom when it began to be studied in Southeast Asia in the 1970s.

In addition to those listed, there are many more alkaloids found in Kratom leaves that are waiting to be discovered. Although those with the highest concentrations have the most direct effect, those with lower concentrations can also work in symbiosis with other alkaloids.

According to Hungarian legislation, kratom is not for human consumption, it cannot be used as food or as a dietary supplement. It is a natural plant material that can be sold for botanical and analytical purposes, as a vegetable dye, for aromatization, or for external use.
