The kratom tree is native to Southeast Asia, particularly in tropical regions. The traditional use of preparations made from its leaves dates back hundreds of years, mainly among local communities, where it has been used as a natural dye, cosmetic ingredient, and medicinal herb in everyday life.
Mitragyna Javanica (Kratom alternative) comes from the same region as the Southeast Asian kratom. It contains the same alkaloids as kratom, but lacks mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine. ...

The leaves contain numerous active ingredients, including alkaloids, such as mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine.
White kratom
The most popular white kratom variety is White Dragon Kratom, which is a ground kratom from the interior of Borneo. The leaves of the tree are collected in late summer, carefully dried and ground. Our other best-known product is White Maeng Da Kratom powder, one of the best-known and highest-quality kratom varieties, which is also collected in late summer, then carefully dried and ground.
Green kratom
The most popular green kratom variety is Green Dragon Kratom, or Green Maeng Da Kratom.
Red kratom
The most popular red kratom variety is Borneo Red Kratom, as well as Red Dragon Kratom.
Kratom Alkaloids
The most well-known alkaloids are mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine, but there are also several other compounds found in the plant. The complex chemical composition of kratom contributes to the plant’s versatility.
Mitragynine
The primary alkaloid in Kratom is mitragynine. It can account for up to 70% of the alkaloid content of the leaves and has been studied for years.
7-hydroxymitragynine
The other most active alkaloid found in Kratom. 7-hydroxymitragynine is chemically very similar to mitragynine, so it is often studied in the same context. However, the 7-hydroxymitragynine content in Kratom leaves is much more variable than that of mitragynine. It depends greatly on the type of leaves, the drying process, and the time of collection. This variation is not very significant, typically a fraction of a percent.
Paynantheine
Paynantheine is the second most abundant chemical in Kratom alkaloid.
Speciogynine
It is the third most abundant alkaloid in most Kratom leaves.
Mitraphylline
It usually makes up less than 1% of Kratom leaves. Mitraphylline is believed to have great potential and is being studied further.
Ajmalicine
One of the first alkaloids to be found in Kratom when it was first studied in Southeast Asia in the 1970s.
There are many more alkaloids in Kratom leaves that are yet to be discovered.
Kratom is not for human consumption, is not intended for use as a food, or as a dietary supplement. It is a natural plant material used for botanical and analytical purposes, as a vegetable dye, for aromatization, or for external use.
